Community Support Coordinator

Keep community questions answered and moderation work organized

A community support coordinator helps members navigate your community and keeps routine support work moving. Your bot answers from approved resources, welcomes members, organizes recurring questions and routes moderation issues according to your rules, preserving the context needed for consistent follow-through.

The job behind the title

Give this work a clear owner.

Communities accumulate repeated questions, unresolved member requests and reports that need different kinds of attention. When those are mixed together, useful conversations get buried and moderators spend time reconstructing context instead of addressing the issue.

Responsibilities

What your community support coordinator can take on.

We shape these responsibilities around your systems, priorities and decision permissions.

01

Answer community questions

Direct members to current resources, explain approved community procedures and identify questions that need a product, events or support owner.

02

Support member onboarding

Provide the relevant welcome information, participation guidance and access instructions, respecting the permissions associated with each member group.

03

Organize moderation queues

Capture reported content and relevant context, apply the allowed classification rules and route cases to the correct moderation workflow.

04

Surface recurring needs

Summarize repeated questions, unresolved requests and knowledge gaps with representative evidence so community owners can improve the experience.

Illustrative workflow

The situation

A product community receives several questions about a changed feature while a discussion thread also attracts a reported personal attack. The two issues need different owners and responses.

The work

Your bot answers the product questions from approved guidance and collects any unresolved points for support. It separately records the reported content and context in the moderation workflow defined by the community.

When something needs attention

If a report suggests an urgent safety concern or includes sensitive personal information, the bot follows the community's escalation and evidence-handling rules rather than repeating those details in a public reply.

How we can review performance

We agree on targets and review methods together. These are proposed measures, not claimed results.

Before you get started

Questions about this role.

Can the bot remove posts or restrict accounts?

It can carry out the moderation actions explicitly delegated in your rules and permissions. Ambiguous cases, appeals and actions outside that authority follow the designated review process, with the reason and relevant evidence preserved.

Will it participate as a community member?

The role should have a clear, accurate identity appropriate to your community. Its replies can match the community's tone, but it should not invent personal experiences or imply that an automated support account is an ordinary member.

Can community insights inform product decisions?

The bot can organize recurring themes and representative feedback, including the context and limits of the sample. Those observations are useful inputs, but community activity alone should not be presented as a representative measure of every customer's priorities.
